Syracuse WR Brisly Estime has career day in win over Wake Forest

November 3, 2013 Ben Glidden

Coming into Saturday’s game against Wake Forest, freshman wide receiver Brisly Estime had made just eight catches during his limited minutes on the field. He had been just a blip on the box score… until today, when Estime snagged more catches than any Syracuse wide receiver has made in a game all season.

Syracuse 24, NC State 10 — What we learned

October 14, 2013 Ben Glidden

Three different guys had great games in the ground against NC State, combining for over 300 total rushing yards. Jerome Smith, Prince-Tyson Gulley and Terrel Hunt were all impressive on Saturday, because that’s all SU’s offense is really capable of right now.

Syracuse 14, Clemson 49 — What we learned

Sure, he’s a better alternative than Drew Allen, but he certainly isn’t the second coming of Donavan McNabb like many were starting to say. His competition in his previous two games wasn’t anything compared to this Clemson team.

Syracuse 52, Tulane 17 — What we learned

Terrel Hunt is the guy. Game over. He accounted for five touchdowns on Saturday and played most of the game. Drew Allen got in briefly once the lead became insurmountable.

Syracuse 54, Wagner 0 — What we learned

Did Hunt solidify his starting position? Allen just hasn’t been able to move the ball and it’s hard to ignore his six turnovers in the previous two games.

Syracuse 27, Northwestern 48 — What we learned

My guess is that Drew Allen gets the start again next week. There’s a reason Scott Shafer chose him as the starter in week one and two and I don’t think he’ll lose hope quite yet.

Syracuse 17, Penn State 23 — What we learned

September 2, 2013 Ben Glidden

Is Drew Allen the guy? Will he lead the Orange under center this season? He didn’t give us the performance many fans hoped for. He had some good moments but he also had some awful ones, including two second-half interceptions.

No. 1 Ernie Davis — Counting down the Top 5 Syracuse running backs

May 16, 2013 Ben Glidden

Long ago, Syracuse University was the hot spot for All-American running backs. Some of the best backs in NCAA history lived on The Hill and played at Archibold Stadium under coaching great Ben Schwartzwalder.

No. 2 Jim Brown — Counting down the Top 5 Syracuse running backs

May 9, 2013 Ben Glidden

When thinking about Syracuse football, Jim Brown is always one of the first names that comes to mind. In 1956, Brown averaged 6.2 yards per carry and set records for most touchdowns and most points in one game.
