Syracuse's hopes are bleak

2017 defensive end Deron Irving-Bey from Flint (Mich.) tweeted on Wednesday that he received an offer from Syracuse. He holds 14 offers now, including from Michigan, Michigan State and Iowa State.

2018 Illinois wide receiver Micah Jones tweeted on Wednesday that he received his seventh college offer from Syracuse. His offer list includes Iowa, Northwestern, Illinois, Vanderbilt, Bowling Green, and Iowa State.

Akron (OH) running back Weston Bridges announced his commitment to Michigan State on Wednesday via Twitter. The 2017 prospect had a three-star rating from 247 Sports and also held a Syracuse offer.

2017 Plant (Fla.) wide receiver Antoine Thompson picked up an offer from Syracuse on Wednesday, reports Scout.com’s Corey Bender. Rated three stars by Scout, he also holds offers from Louisville, Miami, Mississippi State and Wisconsin.

Syracuse lost out on Columbia grad transfer Grant Mullins, who announced his commitment to the California Golden Bears on Wednesday. Mullins was also considering Syracuse and Michigan.

But all is not lost on the graduate front, as the Orange will host former Michigan point guard Spike Albrecht on Saturday, reports Scout.com’s Ben Sigel. Other schools he’s considering include USC, Milwaukee, Wichita State, Texas A&M, Purdue and Indiana.
