Now Lavin has jumped into the Isaiah Briscoe Sweepstakes and the St. John’s coach was at Roselle (N.J.) Catholic Sunday night to watch Briscoe and his teammates work out. Briscoe, in turn, is slated to be at St. John’s Friday for Red Storm Tip-Off.

Over their shared time on campus, C.J. Fair and Baye Moussa Keita have built an easy relationship. As the team started to gather for its official picture on Media Day, Keita adjusted Fair’s trademark headband, then plucked an errant thread and discarded it. The two chuckled over a silly moment.

Syracuse was picked to finish second in the ACC behind Duke at ACC basketball media day. SU forward CJ Fair was selected as ACC Preseason Player of the Year after leading the Orange in scoring (14.5 ppg) and rebounding (7.0 rpg) in his junior season.

With all the hoopla surrounding Tyler Ennis’ arrival to campus, along with Tyler Roberson and the other 3 members of the Orange’s freshmen class (ranked No. 6 nationally), star senior C.J. Fair has practically become an afterthought. The incoming point guard is getting all the hype, but it’s Fair, continuing Cuse’s recent string of strong senior leaders, who is going to have the breakout year.
