The Orange got revenge for the two regular season losses to the Hoyas, including the 61-39 embarrassment in Washington six days ago, by doing what they’ve done more of during this run in New York, hit opportune shots.
It was on this very same court three months ago that Michael Carter-Williams failed in Syracuse’s first loss of the season. But on Wednesday afternoon, Carter-Williams showed that during that time period, he had learned from his December experience.
For the second straight day, #19 Syracuse blistered the nets at Madison Square Garden in New York en route to advancing in their final appearance in the Big East Tournament, this time edging #17 Pittsburgh in Thursday’s quarterfinal matchup, 62-59
Southerland crashed the boards and was able to get some second chance points and make some important defensive plays inside. But those weren’t the most important things.
