Florida State Seminoles blow out Syracuse Orange

Saturday turned out to be as unsuccessful a business trip as many expected for Syracuse, as they were flattened by #2 Florida State in Tallahassee, 59-3. The Orange (5-5, 3-3 ACC) were no match for the hosts, as the Seminoles (10-0, 8-0) completely dominated every facet of the game, simply due to their overabundance of athleticism.

Syracuse Orange uneven in win over Fordham Rams

If you could combine #9 Syracuse’s first two games of the season, there would be one phenomenal game and one that would give head coach Jim Boeheim at least one migraine. After overcoming a 14-point first half deficit to blow out Cornell in the season opener, the Orange (2-0) dominated early against Fordham before settling for an 89-74 victory.

2013-14 Syracuse basketball: Schedule analysis

Syracuse’s non-conference schedule carries a little more heft than what it has in some recent years, highlighted by a visit from Indiana as part of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, a pair of games with former Big East conference mates St. John’s and Villanova, and a trip to Hawaii during Thanksgiving week for the Maui Invitational.

Syracuse defense contains Wake Forest in shutout win

One drive, one turnover, one trick play. Those three things were all Syracuse needed as they pitched a 13-0 shutout on Saturday over Wake Forest at the Carrier Dome. The win not only evened out the Orange record at 4-4 overall and 2-2 in the ACC, bit it also nudged them within two games of bowl eligibility with four games left on their schedule.
