Syracuse Orange defeat NC State Wolfpack for first ACC win
Syracuse dominated in the trenches throughout the game and made it pay off late with a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns that keyed a 24-10 victory over North Carolina State. The offense of the Orange (3-3, 1-1 ACC) rolled up over 300 yards on the ground for the second straight week, while the defense punished the Wolfpack (3-3, 0-3), holding them to 2.9 yards per rush and logging 13 tackles for loss, including four sacks.
Clemson Tigers rout Syracuse Orange
There was a lot of hype surrounding Saturday’s game between Syracuse and #3 Clemson. The combination of Homecoming, the Orange’s ACC debut, and a premier opponent led to a giant crowd at the Carrier Dome, but all they saw was a dominant first half performance by the Tigers, who cruised to a 49-14 win.
Syracuse Orange blow past Tulane Green Wave
Saturday’s game between Syracuse and Tulane was close on the stat sheet, but not on the scoreboard as the Orange dominated on special teams on their way to a 52-17 romp at the Carrier Dome. SU (2-2) blocked three kicks in the game and also recovered a fumble on a punt return in jumping out to a pair of 25-point leads in the first half and not looking back.
