Gameweek 7 Syracuse vs Clemson: The Turning Point for the Orange

Going into week 7, Syracuse has been on fire with a perfect 6-0 record with a solid run with some arguing that this is the most dominant team since the 2018 10-3 squad.

Former Syracuse DB and current WROC-TV sports reporter Carl Jones reported that Syracuse can pull off a 11-1 or 10-2 season but is Jones right about his prediction?

The Orange so far in the 2022 season in the ACC

Before we make our prediction for the Syracuse-Clemson game in the 2022 season let’s do a quick recap on our performance this season.

Gameweek 1 Syracuse 31 Louisville 7

The Orange started the game on a three game historical losing streak with our last victory against the Cardinals four years ago in 2018.

Syracuse junior running back Sean Tucker rushing for 100 yards and a touchdown. Senior QB Garrett Shrader threw for 236 yards and and a pair of touchdowns. Tucker and Gadsen connected on 2 TDs.

Gameweek 2 Syracuse 48 Huskies 14

The last time Syracuse lost to the Huskies was way back in 2011. Yet again the Orange won every quarter with a solid offensive game with Shrader throwing for 292 yards and 3 TDs and adding 112 rushing yards.

This victory continues the Orange’s 4 game winning streak against Connecticut.

Gameweek 3 Syracuse 32 Purdue 29

The Orange were down 9-3 at half time and the Boilermakers leading 29-25 with 9 seconds left on the clock.

But Sharder found Gadsen for the game-winning TD and Syracuse won 32-29.

Gameweek 4 Syracuse 22 Virginia 20

The Orange ended a 3 game losing streak against Virginia with the Orange wrapping up the game with a defensive stand with :27 left.

Gameweek 5 Syracuse 59  Wagner 0

The Orange were expected to win, but they ended up steamrolling past the Seahawks by jumping out to a 49-0 at halftime.

Gameweek 6 Syracuse 24  NC State 9

The Orange ended a 3 game losing streak vs the North Carolina State, a team we have historically struggled with a record of 2-12 since 1972 prior to this game.

Gadsden was on fire, averaging 17.6 yards per reception and adding 2 TDs.

Can the Orange beat the odds?

The Orange are being pegged as underdogs for the Clemenson game with major sportsbooks for football betting like Unibet, giving the Tigers odds of -560 and setting the spread at 13.5.

If the Orange beat Clemson in Gameweek 7 this would be a major upset for the team with Notre Dame up next in Gameweek 8 and sportsbooks might end up re-thinking their odds for the Orange.

The Orange are currently pegged at odds of +15000 to win the Championship while Syracuse has the third best odds at +1000 which means this could be the turning point for the Orange.

But they maintain the momentum, those odds might drastically shift in our favor and sportsbooks might end up rethinking those long odds for the Orange.
