Great to see former Syracuse forward Oshae Brissett turn in a great performance in the NBA Summer League! On to today’s recruiting links…
It was a busy weekend for Syracuse basketball, starting with a couple of offers extended to the class of 2022. Dior Johnson, a combo guard from Saugerties, NY tweeted on Saturday afternoon that he had been extended an offer from the Orange. He mentioned that he had met Syracuse coaches Jim Boeheim and Gerry McNamara in seventh grade. He also holds offers from DePaul, Nebraska, Albama and LSU.
On Friday, SU also extended an offer to Trinity (Pa.) High School guard Chance Westry. The offer was first reported by ZagsBlog.com’s Adam Zagoria. Penn State has also extended an offer to the 2022 prospect.

Syracuse associated head coach Adrian Autry was also on the recruiting trail this weekend, and was on hand to watch 2021 four-star forward Benny Williams, reported Mike McAllister from 247 Sports. Williams was playing at Peach Jam, and holds an offers from Syracuse, Georgetown, Seton hall and Stony Brook, among others.
Hawk Central’s Matthew Bain caught up with Syracuse priority target Andre Jackson. The 2020 wing has been heavily pursued by UConn, Syracuse, Iowa and UCLA, but remains open to being recruited by other schools. “I have a set four that I really, really like and I took officials to all of them,” Jackson said. “But I’m still remaining in contact with schools like Louisville and other guys that still express interest in me — so I’m not completely shut down with other schools.”
Another prospect Syracuse was interested in at Peach Jam was 2021 guard Kennedy Chandler, according to Stockrisers.com’s Jacke Weingarten. The four-star guard is ranked 28th in his class by 247 Sports, and he already holds offers from Ole Miss, Alabama, Florida State, Illinois and Seton Hall.
Moving over to the gridiron, the football team was also active over the weekend, extending an offer to 2022 LaSalle (Pa.) linebacker/running back Abdul Carter, he tweeted. Check out his HUDL highlights here.
That’s all for today. Have a great start to your week, everyone!
