Syracuse Orange hold off St. John’s Red Storm
Thanks to taking a 12-point lead in the first half, then finishing the game on a 10-3 run, #2 Syracuse survived a strong second half performance by St. John’s and pulled out a 68-63 win Sunday afternoon at Madison Square Garden in New York. The win pushed the Orange to a 10-0 start on the season and also gave head coach Jim Boeheim his 75th career win in the Garden.

Instant Juice: Syracuse 68, St. John’s 63
Freshman Tyler Ennis, who had just taken an ill-advised 3 (which missed) and a silly transition foul, came back with a pair of free throws and layup, which put Syracuse back on top. On the ensuing Syracuse possession, CJ Fair hit a baseline jumper to put SU back up 4 with 3:00 left, and they would not relinquish for the rest of the game.
