Few fans of Syracuse University doubt Terrel Hunt’s leadership pedigree. He has come on in leaps and bounds of late and his performance as the team’s starting QB is stellar. But it was not always so for Hunt. He entered the training camp a year ago, and was competing fiercely for the starting quarterback slot alongside the transfer from Oklahoma, Drew Allen. When Drew Allen was named as the opening day starting quarterback against Penn State, Hunt fans may have been a little disheartened. But it was merely a temporary setback. Since Allen really couldn’t find his rhythm in the first couple of games, Terrel Hunt came in with big boots to fill. Hunt exploded out of the blocks when Syracuse University played against Wagner and his solid performance continued against Tulane in game 4 of the season. There is plenty of juice in Hunt’s game as his Texas Bowl figures suggest – there he completed 19 passes out of 29 for 188 yards. With figures like that, Hunt fans may well feel they’ve hit the jackpot.
