Recruiting Roundup: Syracuse offers several Cass Tech football prospects

Congratulations to former Syracuse stars Eric Devendorf and Terrence Roberts, who have signed with the Super City Rangers of New Zealand’s NBL. On to today’s recruiting links…

Syracuse offered several Detroit (MI) Cass Tech prospects (11 in all) who took visits to Syracuse this weekend. Let’s start with 2018 linebacker DeAndre Square, who tweeted that he had received his second offer from the Orange. He tells Scout.com’s Mike McAllister that SU is the early leader for his services.

His teammate and fellow linebacker, Zach Morton, also tweeted his Orange offer. He also holds offers from Iowa State and Cincinnati, and is rated 3-stars by Scout.

Keeping with the Cass offers, 2018 CB/WR Kalon Gervin also received an offer, which Gervin said was his 11th on Twitter. Among those 11 include Michigan, Penn State, Pitt and Illinois.

Gervin wasn’t the only defensive back to get an offer. 2018 safety Jaylen Kelly-Powell tweeted his offer out. The four-star prospect holds offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Northwestern, among others.

Syracuse.com’s Stephen Bailey writes that two Syracuse commits, Jo-El Shaw and Michael Clark, will play in the Big 33 Classic. The contest pits elite talent from Pennsylvania and Maryland, and will be played on June 18 in Hershey, Pa.

Andre Rafus had St. John’s Chris Mullin and SMU’s Larry Brown on hand to watch him over the weekend, reports Rivals.com’s Eric Bossi. The 2017 four-star wing also holds an offer from the Orange.

Elite Sophomore Cameron Reddish from Westtown (Pa.) visited Duke and UNC over the weekend, reports 247 Sports’ Andrew Slater. He already holds offers from Connecticut, Villanova, Seton Hall, Auburn, and Penn State, and has drawn interest from the Orange.

That’s all for today. Have a great (late) start to your week!
