SNY Announces Comprehensive Coverage of the 2012 BIG EAST Basketball Tournament

NEW YORK – SNY, the official television home of the New York Mets, Jets and BIG EAST Conference, today announced its comprehensive coverage of the Men’s and Women’s BIG EAST basketball tournaments.

SNY’s coverage of the Men’s BIG EAST Tournament will tip off Monday, March 5th at 10:00pm when the network premieres its “BIG EAST Tournament Preview” program, which is presented by Citi.  The show will feature exclusive interviews with coaches, key match-ups, player profiles and team-by-team breakdowns.  It will also showcase in-depth analysis from a panel of experts including former St. John’s guard Tarik Turner, former BIG EAST coach Tim Welsh and host Gary Apple.

In addition, “BIG EAST Nightly” – presented by Blimpie – will provide live in-depth, nightly coverage throughout the BIG EAST tournament – from March 6th thru March 10th at 11:30pm.  Fans can tune-in for post-game reaction, press conferences and exclusive interviews with players and coaches from around the conference.  Gary Apple will host “BIG EAST Nightly” and will be joined by analysts – including Tarik Turner and Tim Welsh – as well as coaches and reporters covering the tournament.

For the first time ever, SNY will televise five Women’s BIG EAST Tournament games – second round and quarter final games – from the XL Center in Hartford, CT.  SNY’s Women’s game schedule will tip off on Saturday, March 3rd at noon [For complete game schedule, visit www.sny.tv].  SNY will also provide in-depth coverage of the Women’s championship game, including exclusive on-site reports with players and coaches.

SNY will also feature extensive coverage throughout the BIG EAST tournament during its live shows, including Daily News Live at 5:00pm, The WheelHouse at 5:30pm, Loud Mouths at 6:00pm and GEICO SportsNite live from 10:30pm-1:30am.
