ACC teams have finessed Syracuse basketball’s 2-3 zone
Well, that didn’t take long. 25-0 now seems like a distant memory, perhaps even a dream. The nightmare of a five game skid (I’m including the Maryland victory because it was still ugly), heading into the last game of the regular season, has Syracuse fans everywhere wondering, how did it happen? What went wrong?
Early returns show Syracuse basketball can repeat last year’s success
Part of the fun in watching the early season games is figuring out what kind of team the Syracuse Orange will be during the upcoming season, and what the ceiling is for its success. After two extremely inconsistent winning efforts against inferior teams, I’m surprisingly optimistic about this squad’s chances to reach the Final Four, and repeat or exceed last year’s achievement.
Syracuse F CJ Fair poised for a big year
With all the hoopla surrounding Tyler Ennis’ arrival to campus, along with Tyler Roberson and the other 3 members of the Orange’s freshmen class (ranked No. 6 nationally), star senior C.J. Fair has practically become an afterthought. The incoming point guard is getting all the hype, but it’s Fair, continuing Cuse’s recent string of strong senior leaders, who is going to have the breakout year.
Can Carmelo Anthony win in the NBA?
Recently Coach Jim Boeheim made waves in the media by essentially calling Carmelo Anthony’s New York Knicks teammates a bunch of jabronis (my word not his). He went on to say that a second scorer would allow Anthony to reach the NBA Promised Land and that contrary to some media opinions; he is in fact a winner.
