Red Bank (NJ) Catholic linebacker Davin Brewton is one of the top 2024 prospects in New Jersey, and took a visit to Syracuse this past weekend that changed his ‘whole perspective’ on the Orange.
“It really amazed me,” Brewton said in an interview with The Juice Online. “Definitely changed my whole perspective on Syracuse.”

Brewton took in a 32-29 Syracuse win over Purdue that wasn’t decided until the final seven seconds. SU quarterback Garrett Shrader found tight end Oronde Gadsden II for a 25-yard touchdown that sent the JMA Wireless Dome crowd into a frenzy.
“The atmosphere was great,” Brewton said. “More than I could ever imagine. I love the energy everyone was giving off. The game was great, really intense. Love to watch games like that. It was a dog fight.”
Syracuse extended an offer to Brewton back in May. He also holds offers from West Virginia and UMass, while Power 5 schools like Rutgers, Notre Dame and Duke have also shown interest.

During Brewton’s visit, he got to meet with players, fellow recruits and the coaching staff. In particular, Brewton pointed to the coaches as one of the reasons he enjoyed his visit.
“Coaches were great,” Brewton said. “They were very easy to interact with, very informative. They made me feel at home.”
