While Syracuse basketball continues to struggle, the football team has developed a lot of momentum in the offseason. Let’s get right to it…

Syracuse picked up a major commitment over the weekend, adding 2022 Edison (Fla.) High defensive lineman Francois Nolton. The former Florida commit is considered to be one of the top edge rushes in the 2022 class, and is ranked the 626th recruit in his class, and a three-star prospect. His offer list has a long list of blue bloods, including Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Miami, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M and USC, among many others.

Another 2020 prospect that is worth monitoring is Skyridge (UT) High offensive lineman Tapuvae Amaama. He officially visited the Orange in December, and has only taken one other official visit (Virginia). He is planning on announcing his college decision on Feb. 2, he tweeted last week. 247 Sports rates him a three-star prospect, and he also holds offers from BYU, Miami and Colorado State, among others.

With Syracuse adding a 2020 quarterback with four years of eligibility remaining last week, SU is now looking to future recruiting cycles. On Friday, the Orange offered 2023 quarterback LaNorris Sellers on Friday. The three-star quarterback from South Carolina is currently committed to Virginia, but his pledge came when current SU offensive coordinator Robert Anae and quarterbacks coach Jason Beck were still with the Cavaliers. That may open the door for a flip to the Orange.

The Orange was also busy in New Jersey last week, offering three teammates from the Hun (NJ) School. The offers were extended to 2023 offensive lineman Zachary Aamland, 2024 defensive lineman Owen Wafle, and 2025 linebacker Kamar Archie.

Another offer Syracuse extended last week included 2025 defensive lineman Davion Dixon, According to Rising Stars Recruiting, Dixon was selected to the 2021-2022 Rising Stars All-South Florida Freshman Team and named the Miami-Dade County Defensive Freshman of the Year.
