2021 wing Benny Williams commits to Syracuse basketball

Syracuse landed its first member of 2021 recruiting class, picking up a commitment from Andrews Episcopal (Md.) wing Benny Williams.

The 6-foot-8, 180 pound forward picked the Orange over finalists Maryland, Georgetown and Miami. Syracuse assistant coach Red Autry was the lead recruiter. He is rated four stars and the 37th ranked recruit in his class according to 247 Sports.

It was the second straight day Syracuse basketball landed a commitment. On Wednesday, the Orange added three-star 2020 center Frank Anselem.

“I have decided to play for coach [Jim] Boeheim in front of the best fans in the country,” Williams said on Instagram.
