Syracuse landed its third member of 2020 recruiting class, picking up a commitment from Prolific Prep (CA) center Frank Anselem.
The 6-foot-10, 220 pound big man picked the Orange over finalists New Mexico, Georgia and San Diego State. Initially, the Suewanee, Ga. native had a final three of LSU, Georgia and Alabama before he reopened his recruitment.
He is rated three stars and the 182nd rated recruit in his class according to the 247 Sports composite. Other schools to have offered included Kentucky, Arizona, Florida, Oregon and Maryland, though a majority of those offers came prior to Anselem reclassifying from the class of 2021.
Syracuse assistant coach Red Autry was the lead recruiter.

Anselem joins a crowded front court for the Orange, which already includes big men Marek Dolezaj, Bourama Sidibe, John Bol Ajak and Jesse Edwards.
But Sidibe, who started every game for the Orange at center in 2019-20, will exhaust his eligibility at the end of the season, as will Dolezaj, who was used as an emergency center throughout the course of his career.
Anselem is the third member of SU’s 2020 class, joining combo guard Kadary Richmond and wing Woody Newton.
