There may be a day soon when the offense takes advantage of its opportunities and the defense rises to thwart the opponent’s assault.

The first quarter of Saturday’s game against South Florida at the Carrier Dome went about as well as possible for Syracuse. Unfortunately for the Orange, the remainder of the game went horribly.

Syracuse dropped its second game of the season, losing to South Florida.
