Heading into the AAU season, Team Scan’s top prospect was expected to be Syracuse-bound Chris McCullough. However, it became clear fairly quickly that teammate Cheick Diallo was going to be the headliner. Diallo, a 6-foot-9 center from Our Savior New American (N.Y.), was a dominant force during the spring and summer, averaging 12.9 points, 9.6 rebounds and 1.6 blocks on the EYBL circuit. “He’s gotten a lot bigger, a lot stronger,” OSNA assistant Eric Jaklistch said. “He really has worked on his body, bulked up to about 220. The goal is to get him to 230, 240 by next year.”
