Syracuse Orange uneven in win over Fordham Rams
If you could combine #9 Syracuse’s first two games of the season, there would be one phenomenal game and one that would give head coach Jim Boeheim at least one migraine. After overcoming a 14-point first half deficit to blow out Cornell in the season opener, the Orange (2-0) dominated early against Fordham before settling for an 89-74 victory.
Behind stingy defense, Syracuse Orange defeat Maryland Terrapins
For the second straight week, the Syracuse defense was simply dominant, shutting down Maryland in a 20-3 road win. The unit forced four turnovers for the Orange, propelling them to within one win of bowl eligibility at 5-4 overall and above .500 in the ACC at 3-2. The SU defense held the hosts to 5.3 yards per play, including a meager 2.3 yards per rushing attempt.
Instant Juice: Syracuse 20, Maryland 3
