Orange Watch: November a big month for Syracuse basketball, football
We’ve always looked forward to the one crossover month of the year (once in a while you can throw in December) when both Cuse football and hoops are (usually) playing meaningful games for different reasons, in this instance football in its challenging stretch run to become bowl eligible, and basketball to fine tune its rotation with three new (fulltime) starters against an equally testing early schedule.

Orange Watch: For Syracuse football, is a minimum 4-2 finish realistic this season?
Scott Shafer’s original pre-summer goal seems far-fetched with six games to play, now losers of four straight the Orange would certainly settle for a goal of a third consecutive bowl appearance for the first time since 1997-99, but it’s going to take at least four top efforts in the last six games to accomplish that feat.

Orange Watch: New Syracuse quarterback, new offensive play caller, HUGE challenge
The Dome record for points scored by one team is 70 by Syracuse in its Donovan McNabb-directed 70-14 blitz of Rutgers in 1998, featuring an Orange offense that resembled an out-of-control video game racing up and down the field, and included 42 points scored by halftime. After FSU put up 59 on the Orange a year ago, is that mark in jeopardy indoors Saturday?
