Syracuse football midseason report card – Offense

The season is halfway over, and the Orange is 4-2. On the plus side, the Orange is two wins away from becoming bowl eligible for a second straight year. The bad news is that SU suffered an incredibly sloppy loss at the hands of Rutgers, and the “Cardiac Cuse” could easily be 0-6 right now with all the close games they’ve played. Midway through the 2011 season, let’s take a look at how the SU offense has been so far.

Nassib has rough day as Syracuse loses

Syracuse’s quarterback had come into Saturday’s game against Rutgers having thrown nine touchdowns to only one interception in Syracuse’s first four games of the season. But Nassib didn’t turn in the kind of performance that Syracuse fans have become accustomed to seeing, as the junior quarterback threw for zero touchdowns and three interceptions in Syracuse’s 19-16 double overtime loss to Rutgers.

Improving Nassib poses worries for Rutgers

Nassib comes into Saturday’s game against the Scarlet Knights having been named to the Big East Honor Roll for four consecutive weeks. He had a 16-of-24 performance for 213 yards and two touchdown passes against Toledo, and is currently 24th in the nation in pass efficiency at 156.0.
