On a day when they honored the late Pearl Washington, Syracuse could not defeat the Orange legend’s greatest rival, dropping a 78-71 game to Georgetown at the Carrier Dome.

The Orange didn’t much from Frank Howard, who shot 2-6 and finished with four assists, but also six turnovers.

Keep an eye out for Howard and Battle attacking the hoop against Georgetown. If they can score effectively, it will open up the entire SU offense.

Pryor is Georgetown’s best shooter. He’s made almost as many 3s as the rest of the team combined while shooting a blistering 52.5 percent from beyond the arc.

All the players, coaches and, yes, fans like me have stories to tell about the rivalry. The teams deserve a worthy, new chapter.
