Laurie Fine will sue ESPN

Laurie Fine, the wife of former Syracuse assistant basketball coach Bernie Fine, announced Wednesday morning that she would be filing a lawsuit in Federal Court against ESPN and ESPN employees Arthur Berko and Mark Schwarz for libel.

Orange draw Gators in inaugural Big East/SEC Challenge

No. 12 Florida will visit the Carrier Dome to take on No. 4 Syracuse on Friday, Dec. 2 at 6:30 p.m. ET. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN. This will mark the third time in four years the two squads have met. The Orange topped the Gators 89-83 in the 2008 CBE Classic semifinal and won 85-73 in Tampa the following season as part of the 2009 SEC/Big East Invitational.

ESPN’s Carcaterra breaks down 2011 lacrosse season

ESPN analyst Paul Carcaterra will be providing commentary on Saturday when UMASS meets Hofstra at 3:00 p.m. and Syracuse faces Rutgers at 5:30 p.m. in the ESPNU Warrior Classic. Carcaterra played as a Syracuse midfielder from 1994-1997, serving as the team’s captain and earning a spot on the all-American team. He was also a member of Syracuse’s 1995 NCAA championship team. We recently spoke to Carcaterra and got his take on the 2011 lacrosse season.
