Cincinnati and Rutgers picked up their fifth wins of the season, while South Florida lost their second-straight Big East game on the road. Connecticut picked itself out of the cellar of the conference, as Louisville took their place. Pittsburgh lost in non-conference play, their fourth loss in the last five games.
Trivia Time: Who’s the only Big East team in history to go undefeated in all 18 men’s and women’s sponsored sports? Why, of course, it’s TCU, the trick answer to the trick question, that now has truly made the future of the Big East football conference, at least as a BCS member down the road, well… tricky.
Cincinnati and No. 18 South Florida continued to impress as the Big East went 5-2 in Week 4. The Bearcats routed the Wolfpack, while South Florida rolled over UTEP. Syracuse needed overtime to beat Toledo, while Connecticut and Rutgers also picked up wins. Pittsburgh fell at Notre Dame while No. 16 West Virginia got blown out at home against No. 2 LSU. Conference play begins next week.
