The season is halfway over, and the Orange is 4-2. On the plus side, the Orange is two wins away from becoming bowl eligible for a second straight year. The bad news is that SU suffered an incredibly sloppy loss at the hands of Rutgers, and the “Cardiac Cuse” could easily be 0-6 right now with all the close games they’ve played. The Orange return eight starters from a unit that was prolific at times, and down right anemic at others. SU’s offense averaged 37.5 points in its opening four games, but during its final three games of the regular season, the Orange could muster only a woeful 8.6 points.

Boston College defeated Syracuse 16-7 at the Carrier Dome. Although the Orange won road games on the road in the Big East, Syracuse also struggled at home, failing to defeat any Football Bowl Subdivision teams at the Dome.
