Two-pointers hold the key to Southerland, Syracuse success

Many commentators have rightly praised Southerland’s play in SU’s first three games, but they have also expressed doubt that he can sustain his torrid pace. They correctly point out that he has gotten red hot before (look no further than the 19 points he scored in his first exhibition game as a freshman), only to cool off the following game.

Cuse displays deadly depth vs. Albany

The Orange were simply too tall for Albany to deal with last night. Syracuse dominated the paint, outrebounding the Great Danes 47-29 and converting on bucket after bucket around the rim. After the game, Coach Boeheim expressed his displeasure with the team’s performance saying, “From the beginning, we weren’t really read to go … Tonight, we didn’t get any better.”
