Thursday night, top-seeded Syracuse survived a barrage of three-pointers by #4-seed Wisconsin to claim a place in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.
In a game that will likely be remembered for torrid offense, it was actually defense that carried Syracuse to a 64-63 win over Wisconsin in the Sweet 16.
Fair ended his slump against Wisconsin Thursday night, leading the Orange with 15 points and seven rebounds as Syracuse advanced to the Elite 8 with a 64-63 win.
But since he was inserted into the starting lineup in place of Christmas at the start of the Big East tournament, Fair has averaged just 2.5 points and 4.25 rebounds per game.
After a lackluster performance against 16 seed UNC Ashville, Syracuse took on a Kansas State team, built to beat the Melo-less Orange and dispatched the Bulldogs in convincing fashion.
