It was Nov. 15, roughly six weeks ago, when Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim went on a rant that has come to define the Syracuse season. Six weeks later, Boeheim sounds completely different when talking about his team.
Over the past few games, Triche has been shooting the ball well and getting those kinds of shooter’s rolls. That couldn’t be said during the first half of Syracuse’s nonconference schedule, when those kinds of shots weren’t falling.
Kris Joseph scored a career high 25 points and Rick Jackson recorded his ninth double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds as Syracuse finished its non-conference schedule with a convincing 93-65 win over Drexel.
James Southerland scored a career high 18 points and Rick Jackson added 18 points and nine rebounds as Syracuse (10-0) rolled past Morgan State (4-5) 97-55.
Boeheim responded to Geno Auriemma’s outburst about the Connecticut women’s basketball team tying UCLA men’s basketball’s all-time winning streak at 88 games after No. 5 Syracuse’s 97-55 win over Morgan State.
Forward James Southerland’s audition for playing time in the Syracuse rotation continues as Syracuse (10-0) hosts Morgan State (4-4) for the first time ever on Dec. 19 at the Carrier Dome.
Joseph struggled in the early season, scoring just 10 points against Canisius and three points against Detroit. After a 3-for-12 shooting performance against N.C. State, head coach Jim Boeheim noted that Joseph looked like he was “auditioning for something” and demanded more of his rising star.
