Syracuse failed to take advantage of several Connecticut turnovers in a disappointing 28-21 loss to Connecticut on Saturday. The Huskies coughed up the ball five separate times in the first half with two interceptions and three fumbles. Yet Syracuse scored exactly zero points coming from those Connecticut miscues.

Pasqualoni defeats his former team, Syracuse

Pasqualoni played Syracuse for the first time since he was fired as head coach of the Orange following the 2004 season. Pasqualoni had coached there for 14 seasons from 1991-2004, and was the second winningest coach in SU history, compiling a 107-59-1 overall record.

The Orange played a sloppy first half of basketball, but went on a 16-5 run and outscored Cal State Los Angeles 50-27 in the second half. Syracuse held Cal State LA to 28 percent shooting from the floor while collecting 11 steals and 12 blocks. But the Orange was sloppy as well, committing 17 turnovers. SU also shot just 3 for 16 from 3-point land.
