One of the most storied rivalries in college basketball will add another chapter to its lore when No. 12 Georgetown comes to visit No. 2 Syracuse on Wednesday.
Syracuse guard Dion Waiters played H-O-R-S-E with fellow guard Michael Carter-Williams during the second half of Syracuse’s 95-70 win over St. John’s on Saturday.
Syracuse forward Kris Joseph stuffed the stat sheet with 14 points, eight rebounds and four assists in SU’s 95-70 rout against St. John’s. He also contributed six offensive rebounds.
Syracuse opened its preseason play with a pair of victories over No. 14 Hofstra and Division II Le Moyne. The three teams played three separate games in round-robin format.
The center returned to the starting lineup and put up a career high 14 points and added three rebounds and two blocks as the Orange routed St. John’s 95-70 at Madison Square Garden.
Syracuse’s 95-70 victory over St. John’s on Saturday afternoon was Orange head coach Jim Boeheim’s 879th career win, tying him for third place on the victory list with former North Carolina coach Dean Smith.
