Syracuse Recruiting Roundup: Juan Minaya, Demari Clemons, Maurice Williams, Jr.

Despite the clunker Syracuse authored on Senior Day, plenty of recruits attended the game. That has been a constant theme this season: The Orange has had lengthy visitor lists at each game. Saturday against Florida State was no different:

Keon Johnson

Johnson is a Class of 2023 OL who plays at Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron, OH. At 6-foot-5, 385 pounds, and with an 82” wingspan, he could certainly help the Orange on the offensive line.

Zahir Weatherington

Weatherington is a Class of 2026 RB from Paramus Catholic in New Jersey. Our Wes Cheng caught up with him after the visit.

Tyrell Simmons

Simmons is a Class of 2024, 6-foot-3, 190-pound WR from University Prep in Rochester NY.

Juan Minaya

Minaya is a 6-foot-6, 325-pound OT form Paramus Catholic in New Jersey. Rivals ranks him as a 3-star recruit. His offer list includes Boston College, UConn, Miami (FL), Ole Miss, Penn State, Pitt and West Virginia.

Juelz Russell

Another University Prep of Rochester product, Russell is a Class of 2024 WR. Russell also runs track.

Khalil Witherspoon

Witherspoon is a 6-foot-5, 210-pound prospect who plays WR, DE, and LB according to his Twitter bio. He’s in the Class of 2024 and plays at Pleasantville High School in New Jersey.

Demari Clemons

Clemons is a Class of 2026, 5-foot-10, 155-pound ATH from Bennett High School in Buffalo. He’s also a teammate of current Syracuse commit Rashard Perry and has previously visited for the Louisville, Purdue and NC State games.

Maurice Williams, Jr.

Williams is a Class of 2024 QB from Orange, New Jersey.

Amir Morelan

Morelan is a Class of 2026 WR/CB from Port Huron, MI who stands 5-foot-11.

Stellan Bowman

Bowman is a Class of 2024 LB from East Kentwood High School in Kentwood, MI.

Micah Ford

Ford is a Class of 2024 RB from Toms River, NJ. The 6-foot, 215-pounder has offers from Maryland and West Virginia.

Basketball

Moving to the hardwood, Syracuse recently offered a Class of 2025 prospect that folks be familiar with: Kiyan Anthony

Yes, the 4-star recruit is Carmelo’s son. The 6-foot-3, 165-pound SG currently plays at Christ the King Regional in Middle Village, Queens. Besides Dad’s school, Anthony has offers from Memphis, Bryant, George Mason, and Manhattan.
