A large contingent of recruits was on hand to watch Syracuse’s 41-24 loss to Notre Dame at the JMA Wireless Dome on Saturday. We caught up with some of them to get their reactions to their visits.

2024 offensive lineman Fletcher Westphal from Tuscarora (VA) High:

My first time in an indoor stadium was memorable for sure. 50,000 sounded like 100,000 and left this ringing in your ears since the noise could not escape. The fans were all in supporting Orange. They were competitive. Some things didn’t align and they lost, but they fought til the end. They were committed no matter the score. Some starters were injured and I’m sure that affected the outcome of the game.

2024 offensive lineman Tanner Burlingame from Main Endwell (NY):

My impressions of Syracuse are still and will stay as a top dog team. They came out of the season hot and I think they are going to stay hot especially with the talent in the depth chart and amazing coaching staff that runs the team. The Syracuse visit was amazing and I had a great time with the coaches and everyone else who was there and helped out. I definitely put Syracuse up high in interest.

2023 defensive back Luis Garcia Jr. from Kennedy Catholic (NY):

I thought the atmosphere was crazy, my ears were still ringing after the game. It was wild. You can tell the amount of love Cuse fans have for their team. I enjoyed it a lot. It was a great game. I got to watch Syracuse’s defensive backs which I think are some of the best in college football and they played a great game, although Garrett Williams got hurt. Hope he’s alright because that guys special for real. I think as of right now that was the loudest stadium I’ve been in so far.

2024 defensive back/wide receiver Joey Flail from North Schuylkill (PA) High:

It was definitely the most energizing atmosphere I’ve ever experienced. The game was very good. You never knew what was gonna happen next. I enjoyed it a lot.

2024 defensive back Donavan Philord from Monsignor (Fla.) Pace:

The atmosphere in the Dome as electric and noise was defending. Syracuse has become one of my favorites. The team is made up of players who play hard with a lot of heart.

2023 lineman Stephen Davis Jr. from North Schuylkill (PA) High:

Being that it was my first time seeing a game in a Dome, it was awesome. I loved how the fans stood up for every third down on defense. Very energetic. I think Coach Babers has turned Syracuse into a yearly contender not only in the ACC, but the entire FBS.
