2024 Middletown (DE) High defensive back Ronnell Davis is one of the most sought after prospects from the Blue Hen state.
Rated three stars by Rivals, he already holds offers from Power 5 programs Duke and West Virginia, and is drawing interest from other high-majors such as Tennessee, Penn State, USC and Georgia.

SU is also among the schools showing interest, and he was part of a large group of visitors taking in the Orange’s 24-9 win over NC State on Saturday in a clash of top 20 teams.
“Syracuse is definitely playing a big role in my recruiting,” he said in an interview with The Juice Online.
While on campus, Davis was particularly struck by the sellout JMA Wireless Dome crowd, which was raucous from kickoff to final buzzer.
“The atmosphere was great,” Davis said. “Probably the most coolest place I’ve been at this year.”
Syracuse head coach Dino Babers made sure to tip his cap to the 49,705 who attended. The ‘12th man’ helped to force several false start penalties, which helped the Orange hold the Wolfpack without a touchdown.
It’s that kind of sense of community that Davis found impressive.

“Love how all the players show love tot he fans after the game,” Davis said. “And the way the coaches let them take time after the game to do so.”
While he was on the Syracuse campus, he had a tour of the facilities and also learned more about the history of the school.
“Talked a lot about 44 and how big the number meant to them,” Davis said.
In the meantime, Davis will try to lead Middletown to its second consecutive state championship. Though the Cavaliers are currently 3-3, he’s confident that a turnaround is around the corner.
“My season (has) it’s ups and downs,” Davis said. “But we gonna get back to winning football all around the board and go win another state title.”
