Plenty of Syracuse recruiting news from both the basketball and football worlds as we kick of this Valentine’s Day edition of the roundup.

Syracuse is one of the finalists for 2022 four-star combo guard Judah Mintz. He took an official visit to NC State over the weekend, and ZagsBlogs.com’s Adam Zagoria caught up with his father after the visit. “It was very impressive overall. Their message in a nutshell was that he could come in immediately and be an impact player next year.” Mintz will be taking an official visit to Wake Forest this upcoming weekend before finishing out his official visit schedule with Syracuse at the end of February when the Orange hosts Duke. The four finalist is DePaul, who he visited earlier in February. Mintz is expected to make his decision at the end of March or early April.

In the 2023 class, Syracuse is the most recent school to offer Puntnam Science (CT) Academy big man Ugonna Kingsley. He already holds offers from Clemson, Georgetown, Georgia, Ole Miss and Texas Tech, among others.

Moving over to the gridiron, the Syracuse coaching staff is starting to make its way toward the south. SU offered 2023 four-star defensive back Marvin Burks Jr. on Sunday. The Cardinal Ritter (MO) College prospect has a slew of high-major offers that includes Arizona State, Colorado, Miami, Michigan, Ole Miss and Texas A&M.

That came a day after Syracuse offered two Alabama prospects. On Saturday, the Orange offered 2023 defensive lineman Adrian Griffin. Rated three stars by 247 Sports, the Fairfield (Ala.) Prep star already holds offers from Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Tennessee and Mississippi State, among others. That came right around the same time that Syracuse offered 2023 Pinson (Ala.) Valley defensive lineman Connor Knight. He also holds a three-star rating from 247 Sports, and holds offers from Houston, Kentucky, Miami and Oregon State, to name a few.

Elsewhere on the defensive line, Syracuse also offered 2023 Archbishop (PA) Wood defensive lineman Eric Gardner Jr. He’s rated three stars by 247 Sports and holds offers from several high majors including Boston College, Maryland, Northwestern, Penn State and West Virginia.

In transfer portal news, the Orange has been recruiting Cal Poly defensive lineman transfer Myles Cecil. He’s looking to visit after the dead period according to Sports Illustrated’s Mike McAllister, and also spoke about his recruitment with The Tech Lunch Pail, with a focus on Va. Tech.
