Another busy week in the recruiting world, especially on the football front. Let’s dive right into it.
Back on Oct. 16, Syracuse offered Walled (Mich.) Lake Western linebacker Aidan Vaughan. The class of 2022 prospect at the time was committed to Air Force, but around the time SU offered, also picked up offers from high majors Louisville, West Virginia, and Maryland. Vaughan tweeted on Sunday that he’s reopening his recruitment.
Another decommitment worth tracking is class of 2022 defensive back Jordan Allen. The three-star top 500 recruit initially committed to Penn State back in July over a slew of offers that included Ole Miss, Miami, Baylor, Georgia, Michigan, Nebraska, and NC State, among many, many others. But last week announced his recruitment was back open after he took a visit to Ole’ Miss. Syracuse extended him an offer back in January.
Syracuse has shown interest in West Virginia transfer linebacker Devell Washington, who put his name into the portal last week. The Bay (Mich.) City class of 2020 product was recruited out of high school as a three-star wide receiver prospect but flipped over to linebacker once with the Mountaineers. Other schools to have shown interest according to Rivals include Purdue, Wisconsin and Utah State.
The Orange defeated Boston College on Saturday, and a pair of committed prospects were on hand to see it. Elba (Ala.) High linebacker Chrystyile Caldwell is currently committed to South Alabama, but took an official visit to Syracuse over the weekend according to Sports Illustrated’s Mike McAllister. The three-star linebacker committed to South Alabama back in July, and also holds offers from Syracuse, Army and Washington State.

On the unofficial visitor list was Victor Rosa, a c/o 2022 three-star athlete from Bristol (Ct.) that is currently committed to UConn. He does not hold any high-major offers, but his offer list does include Massachusetts, Navy and Air Force. Two other recruits McAllister caught up with following their visits were c/o 2022 long snapper Ethan Stangle and Maryland transfer kicker Greg Torcaso.
Also on campus was 2022 quarterback Jalen Daniels, a three-star prospect who was offered by Syarcuse in early October. The Lincoln (Calif.) signal caller’s only other offer at this point is from Howard.
