Plenty of good news for Syracuse as we start our Wednesday morning, starting with the Orange finishing the 2020-21 basketball season in the top 25 in the Coaches Poll. On to today’s recruiting links…

The Orange picked up a big commitment in the class of 2022, as Kamari Lands committed to Syracuse, he announced Tuesday afternoon on Twitter. The rangy wing from Napa (Calif.) Prolific Prep picked the Orange over offers from Georgetown, Marquette, Texas Tech and Xavier among others. “I really like their system and they are based around perimeter play and so I feel like I will prosper,” Lands told 247 Sports’ Travis Branham. The 6-8 forward is ranked as the No. 33 player in his class, and is the only player committed in his year so far.

But it was a gain a Kamari, lose a Kadary kind of day. Earlier in the week, Kadary Richmond stunned Syracuse fans by entering into the transfer portal. The talented freshman committed to Seton Hall on Tuesday, marking the second time in recent memory that a Syracuse player (the other being Taurean Thompson) to transfer to the Pirates. “What made me pick Seton Hall is we developed a relationship while I was in high school and although I didn’t go there out of high school there was never [any] love lost,” Richmond said to Adam Zagoria from NJ.com.

Switching to football, Syracuse made the top 7 for three-star linebacker Mekhi Mason, he announced on Twitter. The Opa Locka (Fla.) Monsignor Pace prospect’s other six teams included Florida State, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh and West Virginia. “I love everything at Syracuse,” Mason said to Sports Illustrated’s Mike McAllister. “From the school to the coaching staff.”

The Orange also made a pair of offers to two cornerbacks on Tuesday. The first was to Greg Delaine Jr., a 2022 prospect from Fort Myers (Fla.). He already holds offers from Iowa State, Coastal Carolina, UCF and Toledo. The other was to 2023 three-star Roseville (Mich.) product Amare Snowden. He’s rated three-stars by 247 Sports and holds other offers from Nebraska, Central Michigan and Bowling Green.

That’s all for today. Be sure to check out former Syracuse linebacker Derrell Smith’s new TV show! Have a great rest of your Wednesday.
