“Take care of yourself, take care of your family, and we’ll see you all soon down the road,” Jim Boeheim says in a video message to Syracuse fans. On to today’s recruiting links…

Syracuse football picked up its first commitment in the class of 2021, as defensive lineman Terry Lockett pledged to the Orange on Sunday afternoon via Twitter. The three-star prospect picked SU over offers from Michigan, UMass and Buffalo. He is listed at 6-1 and 255 pounds Lockett, and 247 Sports lists him as the No. 42 defensive tackle in his class.

Still, it wasn’t all good news for the Orange over the weekend. After Elijah Hughes announced he was testing the NBA Draft waters, his potential replacement, Harvard grad transfer Seth Towns announced he was heading to his hometown Ohio State. The Orange were not considered favorites to land Towns, and he picked the Buckeyes over other offers including Duke, Kansas, Virginia, Michigan and Maryland.

Still, Syracuse remains in the running for Colombia transfer Patrick Tapé. The 6-11, 220 pound center was named All-Ivy League Honorable Mention in the 2018-19 after averaging 11.3 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.3 blocks. Jake Weingarten from StockRisers tweeted on Saturday that Tapé is focusing on Syracuse, USC, Duke and Ohio State, and plans to make a decision in “2-3 weeks.” Tapé visited the Orange in February during their game against Duke, and also took a trip to Maryland (who he is no longer focusing on). He was also planning a trip to USC, but that is likely not possible with the COVID-19 pandemic sweeping across the United States.

On Friday, Syracuse football extended an offer from class of 2021 WR Keon Coleman, he tweeted. The Opelousas (La.) Catholic star is ranked a four-star prospect by 247 Sports and 233rd overall in his class. Among the schools that have offered him include Florida State, Kentucky, Texas A&M and Virginia. His primary recruiter is wide receivers coach Justin Lustig.

PGH Sports’ Mike Vukovcan caught up with 2021 three-star wide receiver Donovan McMillon from Peters (Pa.) Township. He holds over 30 offers right now, including Syracuse, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Louisville, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State and Notre Dame. He plans on cutting that list in the near future. ”Despite what’s going on, I look to be able to make that decision within the next couple weeks,” he tells Vukovcan.

That’s all for today. Stay safe and healthy, everyone!
