Happy 32nd birthday to Syracuse and Boeheim’s Army legend Eric Devendorf! On to today’s recruiting news…

Syracuse and Pitt coaches will be visiting 2020 Mt. Zion Prep forward Woody Newton on Wednesday according to Stockrisers’ Jake Weingarten. Newton is a four-star recruit according to 247 Sports, and holds offers from Maryland, Seton Hall, Kansas State and Georgetown, among others. Newton had previously unofficially visited Syracuse in February.

It’s been a busy week for Syracuse priority target Andre Jackson. The 2020 prospect from Albany is a top 50 recruit in his class, and met with Alabama, Marquette and California on Friday according to The Athletic’s Andrew Slater, only a few days after receiving an offer from UCLA. Illinois, Kansas, Notre Dame and Ohio State are just some of the other schools that have offered Jackson.

2020 Don Bosco (NJ) Prep running back Jalen Berger took a visit to Syracuse over the weekend, he tweeted. The former teammate of current Syracuse quarterback Tommy DeVito is considered one of the best recruits in his class, as he holds an overall ranking of 50 from 247 Sports. He has no shortage of offers, which includes blue bloods Penn State, Alabama and Ohio State, among others.

Berger was joined on campus by Andre Jenkins, a 2020 defensive lineman from Harbor City (Calif.). Jenkins doesn’t hold any offers yet, but check out his HUDL highlights here. He’s also taken a visit to Arizona.

247 Sports’ Brian Dohn caught up with 2020 quarterback Tyler Van Dyke at The Opening New Jersey in April and posted some video highlights. Van Dyke tells Dohn that he’s ‘focused’ on “Miami, Syracuse, Purdue, Georgia Tech and Cal” at the moment. In the last week, four predictions came in on the 247 Crystal Ball favoring Syracuse.

That’s all for today from the Syracuse recruiting world. Have a great start to your week!
