Looks like Syracuse and UCONN will be renewing their rivalry this winter at Madison Square Garden. On to today’s recruiting links…
SNY.tv’s very own, Adam Zagoria, caught up with three Syracuse recruits who were in Central New York over the weekend. 2017 wing Jordan Tucker called the visit ‘great’ and that he ‘enjoyed himself.’ “I’m one of the priorities for them in the Class of 2017 and I would fit perfectly in their system,” Tucker said.
Zagoria also chatted with elite 2017 guard Hamidou Diallo. “The pitch was how much freedom Coach [Jim Boeheim] gives the guards and he wants me to come and take on that two-guard spot,” said Diallo. Duke, Kentucky, UConn and St. John’s are among the schools pursuing Diallo.
The Orange’s last remaining big man target in the class of 2016, Taurean Thompson, also was on the SU campus. “Taurean’s visit went well to Syracuse,” his high school coach told Zagoria. Michigan State was the latest school to throw its hat in the ring for Thompson’s services.
