Syracuse will try for three straight bowl seasons

Good luck to Syracuse alum Chandler Jones, who was traded to the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday. On to today’s recruiting links…

Rivals.com’s Beth Long writes that three-star running back Ivory Kelly-Martin from Oswego (Ill.) has Syracuse among his favorite schools. “Some of the schools that are up there are Arizona, Iowa, Illinois, Syracuse, Western Michigan and New Mexico,” Kelly-Martin said.

Syracuse extended an offer to Florida defensive end Jonathan Garvin, he tweeted on Tuesday. The 2017 prospect holds offers from Georgia, Kentucky and North Carolina, among others. He received an offer from Miami on the same day.

South field (MI) freshman quarterback Sam Johnson is obviously in the beginning of his recruiting cycle, but has already picked up eight college offers, reports Scout.com’s Bill Greene. Out of those offers, Syracuse if the first Power 5 offer for Johnson.

Brian Edwards, a four-star defensive back from Florida, will visit Syracuse on Thursday, reports Rivals.com’s Scott Brown. The 2017 prospect also holds offers from Miami, North Carolina and Clemson, among others.
