Recruiting Roundup: Syracuse targets to play in Sharette Dixon Classic; Christian Colon decommits

Happy Friday, everyone! Let’s get right to today’s Syracuse recruiting links…

Earlier in the week, Seton Hall offered Louis King and Naz Reid, reports NJ Media’s Jeremy Schneider. Reid, a 2018 prospect, holds offers from Connecticut, Louisville, Virginia and Syracuse, among others. King, also a 2018 prospect has offers from St. John’s, VCU and Syracuse.

The 7th Annual Sharette Dixon Classic is this Sunday. Syracuse recruits to look for in the upperclassmen game include: Tyus BattleMohamed Bamba, Nick Richards, Andre Rafus, and Jordan Tucker. Reid and King will play in the underclassmen game.

Several Syracuse recruits will also be on hand for Villanova’s Hoops Mania, writes SNY.tv’s very own, Adam ZagoriaQuade Green, Dahmir Cosby-RoundtreeCameron Reddish, and Tucker will be among that group.

2016 big man Taurean Thompson picked up an offer from Providence, and the two sides are trying to work out a visit, writes FriarBasketball.com’s Craig Belhumeur. Thompson also holds an offer from Syracuse, and visited for Orange Madness last week.

One note for football today: Three star defensive tackle Christian Colon, decommitted from Penn State on Thursday evening, he announced on his Twitter feed. “I have to do what is in the best interest of my family and I,” Colon wrote. Colon holds a slew of other offers, including UCLA, Pitt, Syracuse, Notre Dame and Miami.
