As previously reported by SNY.tv, Louisville coach Rick Pitino will be in to see Tyus Battle as Gill St. Bernard’s plays Montgomery. Villanova assistant Ashley Howard and Notre Dame assistant Martin Ingelsby will also attend, as first reported by Evan Daniels of Scout. Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey is also expected to see the 6-foot-6 Battle later this month, sources said, as the Irish make a push for Battle to replace senior guard Jerian Grant.

Ottawa basketball player Eddie Ekiyor is one of three Canadians selected to participate in the inaugural Basketball Without Borders Global Camp during the NBA All-Star weekend in New York City. A Grade 11 power forward at New Hampton School, Ekiyor was one of 39 players picked from 23 countries to attend the Manhattan camp from Friday through Sunday.
Teammates Malachi Richardson and Myles Powell of Trenton Catholic also were selected selected to play in the North-South senior all-star basketball game March 22 at Rider University. The South squad will include such highly-regard players as Richardson (Syracuse recruit), Isaiah Briscoe of Roselle Catholic (Kentucky) and Trey Lowe of Ewing (Temple).

Despite a self-imposed postseason ban for Syracuse, Trenton Catholic’s Malachi Richardson and Moustapha Diagne of Pope John have not wavered in their commitment to play for the Orange. Both told NJ Advance Media over the weekend that their college plans have not changed, and coach Jim Boeheim spoke to Richardson personally about the issue.
Matthew Moyer, the first player in the high school basketball Class of 2016 to verbally commit to Syracuse, will make an official visit to the school this weekend. The Orange plays Duke Saturday at 6 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. Moyer has visited Syracuse twice with his mom, Annette. Work commitments have prohibited his dad, Fred, from making those trips. But this weekend, the entire family will visit Syracuse.
