Florida State ran into a one-man wrecking crew in Trevor Cooney. Syracuse’s junior guard scored a season-high 28 points on a season-best 7 3-pointers to lead the Orange (12-4, 3-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) to a 70-57 win over the Seminoles (9-7, 1-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) in the Carrier Dome.

Sunday night at the Carrier Dome, Syracuse used a 14-4 first half run to blow open their conference home opener against Florida State and never let the margin get closer than nine points after that, cruising home with a 70-57 victory.

Trevor Cooney’s four first-half 3-pointers was part of a hot shooting start for SU as the Orange took a 35-22 lead into break.
