Beilein had a friendly chat with Tyus Battle, a five-star small forward in the class of 2016 from New Jersey. Assistant coach Jeff Meyer joked around with his arm draped over the shoulder of five-star point guard Derryck Thornton Jr., who came to Ann Arbor all the way from Nevada. Assistant LaVall Jordan shared some small talk with four-star point guard Cassius Winston of Detroit. Bacari Alexander talked up four-star point guard Quentin Goodin, a Kentucky native.
