Newark Tech’s guard tandem of freshman R.J. Cole and sophomore Mustafa Lawrence has faced plenty of tough challenges throughout this season. The toughest of them all might come against Roselle Catholic and guards Isaiah Briscoe and Asante Gist when the teams meet tonight at 7 in the first round of the NJSIAA Tournament of Champions. The four have a long history. Lawrence and Briscoe are distant cousins and have played with each other for years as members of the NJ Pirates AAU team.
