Three Syracuse players were named to the All Big East First Team, the conference announced on Thursday morning.
Wide receiver Alec Lemon, offensive lineman Justin Pugh and safety Shamarko Thomas were all named to the first team. Lemon was a unanimous selection. Lemon set several school and conference records this season, with 70 receptions for 1063 yards and seven touchdowns.
Quarterback Ryan Nassib and defensive lineman Brandon Sharpe were named to the second team.
Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and Rutgers linebacker Khaseem Greene were named conference Offensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, respectively, by the league’s eight head coaches. Bridgewater’s coach,
Temple running back Matt Brown was chosen Big East Special Teams Player of the Year and linebacker Tyler Matakevich was named Big East Rookie of the Year.
Louisville coach Charlie Strong and Rutgers coach Kyle Flood shared Big East Coach of the Year honors.
