Georgetown was downed by Notre Dame 10-8 after relinquishing a four goal lead in the first half. Though the Hoyas took a 6-5 lead into halftime, Notre Dame allowed just three goals in the final 45:07 of the game.
The Orange have a 71-25-2 all time series lead against Hobart, including a 13-12 win at Geneva last year. Syracuse and Hobart will meet for the 99th time in history.
Not many people expected the Orange (9-2, 3-1) to be down five goals heading into the fourth quarter of Saturday’s matchup against Rutgers (2-11, 0-5). But that’s where SU found itself after a lackluster three quarters.
Luke Cometti finally got on track after a slow start to his senior season, scoring four goals. Goalkeeper Dominic Lamolinara stepped up big late in the game, making some huge saves. He finished the day giving up 12 goals but he also made 12 saves.
On the surface, a 5-2 record looks good. The Orange have had quality, consecutive wins over Virginia, St. John’s and Johns Hopkins, but it’s also had frustrating losses—the season opener at home against Albany and this past Saturday at Villanova.
