Triche looks for fast start against Bearcats

Triche went scoreless in the first half against Seton Hall on Saturday before exploding for 15 points in the second half in a 61-56 win. In Wednesday’s 76-59 win over St. John’s, the sophomore guard didn’t register his first points until 2:27 left in the first half but went on to score 15 points in the final 22 minutes.

Three questions with Ryan Koletty

Ryan is currently a junior broadcast journalism major in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. He was the executive producer of CitrusTV’s pregame show “‘Cuse Countdown” for a year before taking on the sports director role at CitrusTV, Syracuse University’s entirely student-run TV studio. He took some time recently to talk to us about SU sports as well as tell us a little more about CitrusTV.

Cuse in a New York State of Mind

A few members of the Orange came out of the locker room donning shirts that read, “New York’s College Team.” Apparently, they just happened to wear them to Madison Square Garden on the day they played St. John’s. Convenient. But the Orange backed up that kind of swagger and showed the Johnnies who’s still runs this town. They took this one, 76-59 to win their fifth straight against and 11th of 12 vs. St. John’s.

Typical weaknesses resurface

After Syracuse beat Drexel in late December I wrote, “Recently, this team has shown no signs the normal weak spots Syracuse teams struggle with. Bad free throw shooting? … Poor three-point shooting? … Careless with the ball?” They had exhibited none of those normal weaknesses. But they reverted to those typical Syracuse flaws and then some against Seton Hall on Saturday. They wound up winning, 61-56 but it should’ve never been that close.
