Attackmen Dylan Donahue and Randy Staats each had six points to lead No. 2 Syracuse (3-0) to a 12-9 win against No. 11 Army (3-1) Sunday, Feb. 22 at the Carrier Dome.
After letting by five goals in the first quarter against Albany last week, the defense stepped it up and shutout the Black Knights in the first quarter.
No. 2 Syracuse (2-0) jumped out to a 7-1 lead in the first quarter and 9-3 at halftime before No. 19 Army (1-2) closed the gap to 10-9 with 2:15 remaining in the game. A goal by senior Jeremy Thompson with 1:06 remaining sealed the win.
